Sales Specialist, Scotland

Edinburgh, United Kingdom

Awarded Europe’s Hottest Startup 2019 by The Next Web

At Too Good To Go, we have an ambitious goal: to inspire and empower everyone to fight food waste.

As the world’s largest food waste-fighting app, we connect stores that have unsold, surplus food with consumers who buy and enjoy it. Our community of 19 million users has saved more than 30 million meals from going to waste across 15 European countries, but there’s still a lot more we want to achieve.

Globally, a third of food is wasted, and climate experts agree that combating food waste is one of the most important things we can do to address the climate crisis. For us, it’s simple: the bigger we get, the better placed we’ll be to make a huge difference. That means we’re looking for talented people with diverse skills and backgrounds to add to our rapidly growing team. That is where you come in: we’re looking for an exceptional Sales Specialist to join our remote team, working on the ground in Scotland and willing to travel. If you're not based in Edinburgh, don't be put off, we're open to many locations.

Your mission:

Above all, in this role you'll be a hunter. You're hungry to get out there, build connections and grow our community of food waste warriors by signing up restaurants, cafes, bars, bakeries and local food retailers.

What we need:

  • Excellent listeners who can understand a client's needs and can present our proposition with clarity and passion
  • Confident relationship builders who can quickly connect and empathise with potential partners (restaurants, cafes and more)
  • Proactive business development calling new prospects with the tenacity to succeed even when things get a little tough
  • Team players, who embrace the overall purpose of Too Good To Go and are ready to embody our values to be passionate, growth-minded, resourceful and creative
  • Independent executors, who can prioritise workload while communicating clearly and openly with their manager, even when working remotely
  • Consistent and impact-focused performance that hits individual and company targets
  • Ability to travel to London for induction and monthly meetings as well as potentially other parts of the UK in line with business requirements on an ad hoc basis

What you should have:

  • A genuine passion for the mission
  • At least 6 months’ experience in a sales role or a role with sales-related skills, preferably in the food retail industry
  • High energy and self-motivation
  • First class communication skills - from listening to presenting ideas and persuading
  • Experience working remotely or proven ability to work remotely and with independence
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Driven not only by individual performance but also by the desire to see your team succeed

You should apply if:

  • You care for our planet, and genuinely want to stop delicious food from being thrown away
  • You’ve got creative ideas, and you enjoy seeing them through quickly
  • You’re resourceful, and always on the hunt for solutions that can have a big impact
  • You constantly look for ways to do better and go a step further

What we offer:

  • The chance to do something that matters. As a certified B Corporation, we’ve been recognised as a business that uses profit and growth as a force for good
  • An inspiring environment that values innovation, compassion and collaboration
  • The chance to work with a talented team that shares a passion for making the world a better place
  • The opportunity to grow within the team
  • A competitive salary with opportunity for performance-related bonuses
